What is Indivisible?

Brought together by a practical guide to resist the Trump agenda, Indivisible is a movement of thousands of group leaders and more than a million members taking regular, iterative, and increasingly complex actions to resist the GOPs agenda, elect local champions, and fight for progressive policies.

Indivisible began with a Google Document. A 23 page “practical guide for resisting the Trump agenda.” Quickly, groups began to form across the country, using this document to help launch thousands of Indivisible Chapters.

Having met at the Contra Costa Women’s March in Walnut Creek, Alissa Levy & Christine Huff decided to start a local chapter. Expecting a group of 25, the first meeting was originally planned in the back room of a Pizza Hut. When it appeared there was more interest than expected, the meeting was moved to a school, and almost 200 motivated citizens showed up, starting an incredible journey that has brought all of us to this day.

Now we will work from the newest guide, Indivisible on Offense. As we move into this exciting new chapter, we would love for members (new and old) to join the steering committee, helping to create short and long term goals, plan meetings and events, and continue to find more (and better) ways to engage members of our community.
